Wine and Cider – Multi tasking at it’s finest

With the growing popularity of rosé in the wine market, (and its popularity with certain staff members), Good George have decided to pursue the dream of having your cake and eating it to. Our latest cider release, Rosé Cider has the best of both worlds with the sweetness of cider and strawberry vanilla notes of a good rosé wine. ...

Beach Beers and Beach Cleanups

To celebrate the launch of our latest beer, brewed right in time for summer, we’ve dedicated ourselves to be tidy kiwis and give a few of our favourite beaches a bit of TLC. Our beach cleanup project launched in mid October at the same time our Beach Beer Session Pale Ale cans hit the shelves, and provided a refreshing beverage to the end of a long day at Raglan’s beaches. All 25 brewery, sales, and office staff were involved in the outing to Good George’s closest beachside town, closing d...

From Frankton to New York

We're set to take a bite out of the big apple, at the Octfest Beer Fest on Governors Island in New York City on September 8-9. The one-of-a-kind beer festival is an international celebration of beer, music and food and is set to draw thousands to the 172 acre island in the heart of New York Harbour. Our Master Brewer Brian Watson is stoked. “It’s really great for us to be able to represent New Zealand, and New Zealand beer at this incredible festival. We as a country have a great reputation ...

Everyone needs a doris

We're excited to have launched our Doris Plum Cider in 330mL cans, wrapped in an awesome 6 pack wrap. Doris has been a staple part of the GG lineup for the last 5 years. Originally brewed as a base apple cider, with excess plum juice from the kitchen added into the tank, it was only available on tap every Thursday. Now it's our most popular cider, and we've made it even more available in a portable, snackable size. ...

Moo & Brew

Moo & Brew, a simple combo that’s as good as it gets. We realize there’s a need to pair our craft beer with food that’s equally considered, and produced with care and attention. There’s something natural about seeking a crafted dish to live up to your beer, and something even more natural about doing so with burgers. That being said, for the month of August, bars and restaurants from Auckland to Rotorua have put their hat in the ring for another Good George Moo & Brew competition. The cr...

Meet our East Coast IPA

They seem to be all the rage now, New England IPA is the beer style of the future (and the past). Debuting at GABS last week, we’re now releasing our latest East Coast IPA to a bar and store near you. East Coast IPA is a nice hazy juice bomb of a beer. The beer is unfiltered to maintain hop flavour, which also makes it hazy and opaque, and will mean sediment build up in the bottom of squealer bottles. This is totally normal, and you just need to gently roll the squealer bottle on its side to ...

Farmer’s Beers battle at this year’s Fieldays

A North Island versus South Island battle will be waged at Fieldays this year in the bar, but it’s not the brawl you’d expect. As we are the Official Beer Supplier of Fieldays, we thought it would be fun to invite two farmers to our Hamilton brewery to help out with brewing their own versions of a lager, and then make the beers available to try at the agricultural event. Over two early mornings in May, Ken, a sheep and beef farmer from the Mackenzie High Country in the South Island, and Gaz,...

Good George brews up a new Bar for Tarawera Corner, Rotorua

We're stoked to announce that we will be partnering with Rotorua locals Andy and Prue Allan to open a Good George Brewpub at Tarawera Corner. The BrewPub is a welcome addition to our bars operated under Good George throughout the Waikato, Coromandel and Bay of Plenty.  Head of Hospitality, Kevin Flynn, said he and his team are thrilled to secure the agreement and believe the site is ideal for the style of outlet we wanted to set up in Rotorua. “We were looking for somewhere high profile, ...

“George’s Bach” has left town – for now....

9th May 2018.  "George’s Bach” Pop Up in Whangamata was the newest spot for good beer, cider, and pizza, but its short stint in town is over, for now. It was intended as a pop-up pub for summer, with a temporary licence to trade. But the success of the venue and overwhelming support from punters, and other local businesses, led the owners to apply for a permanent, licence. Unfortunately a disgruntled neighbour took exception to the sudden popularity of the venue and filed an opposition...

Georges Bach Pops up at Whangamata

"George’s Bach” Pop Up, in Whangamata, is a new spot for good beer and cider from Good George, and woodfired pizza from Mizzoni. The George’s Bach Pop Up team secured a site on Ocean Road Whangamata, next to the Achilles Store just before Christmas and rushed to get the doors open in time for the silly season. After installing some taps, putting a woodfired pizza oven out the back and changing over signage, the team at George’s Bach are ready to welcome punters. Good George Beer and Cide...

Cook St Social opens in Hamilton East

We've opened the doors on our latest Brew Bar and Taphouse, expanding the neighbourhood pub network and bucking trends that show a slow down in beer consumption. Cook Street Social in Hamilton East is our latest venue for Good George, adding to our six neighbourhood pubs around the Waikato. ““The craft beer landscape has changed a lot since we began five years ago. It’s a real battle out there securing taps and shelf space against the big breweries, and we’ve seen plenty of stats showin...
