OUR BREWS

Beer shouldn't be bland, full of chemicals, mass produced and boring.
Nor should it be hard, pretentious or scary. Exploring and drinking beer
should be enjoyable, simple and really rewarding.

HONEY, STAW, CITRUS ZEST, HERBAL
CRISP, GRAINY, SLIGHT FRUITINESS
Gold – New World Beer & Cider awards 2017
Our 'geographically confused' Pilsner has a combination of new and old world hops, exhibited by fruit, subtle zest and a grassy herbaceous character. Finishing clean, dry and bitter it’ll keep you coming back for another!

XPA

5.0%
PALE TO LIGHT GOLD
LIGHT TROPICAL FRUIT, GRAPEFRUIT ZEST
CITRUS, LEMON LIME, GRAPEFRUIT WITH A HINT OF PINE
We did it! We bottled spring. Remove the cap and you’ll almost see the sunshine pouring out. This very drinkable extra pale ale will remind you of mangoes, lychees and other tropical fruits you can’t grow in NZ right now but give climate change a few years and who knows? So bottoms up. When we’re all waist deep in water you’ll be sorry you didn’t drink more good beer while you could..

APA

6.2%
HAZY LIGHT AMBER
GRAPEFRUIT, PINE, HERBACEOUS
RESINY, BITTER, QUENCHING
Bronze – New World Beer & Cider awards 2016
Is it hoppy enough? This beer is the bigger brother to our IPA with bigger malt base, more alcohol and bitterness, and double the dry hop addition. Finishing bitter yet well-bodied, this unfiltered beer will tempt you in for another pint.

SPARKLING PALE ALE

4.5%
BRIGHT, PALE GOLD, SPARKLING
CITRUS, PASSIONFRUIT, FRESH HOPS
CRISP, GRASSY, THIRST QUENCHING
Bronze - 2017 Brewers Guild Awards
If you're looking to step up from the usual, look no further. Hiding beneath its pale hue are pockets of citrus & balanced biscuity brilliance. Scared of that bitterness? Take another sip.

SMALL WONDER PALE ALE

2.5%
PALE STRAW
WHITE GRAPES, PASSIONFRUIT, CITRUS
CRISP, REFRESHING, TROPICAL
Little can, huge taste. We named this guy Small Wonder because he breaks all the rules around what a low alcohol beer should taste like. He may not have a lot of weight behind him but he can pack a punch, like that weedy kid you tried to push around at intermediate school who ended up owing you in front of all your friends. Don’t judge a book by its cover, and never judge a beer by its number. Available at Good George Bars.

AMBER ALE

3.7%
LIGHT BROWN
CARAMEL, TANGELO, HERBAL, CHOCOLATE
LIGHT, MALTY, SWEET
Gold – New World Beer & Cider awards 2017
Brewed with a classic English bitter in mind. This beer is about rich, caramel malts, balanced with a dash of colonial hops. The Hard Workers beer, we’ll let you have a couple.

STOUT

4.9%
ACE OF SPADES BLACK
CHOCOLATE, CARAMEL, VANILLA
ROASTINESS, CHOCOLATE
A classic irish style dry stout with a liberal addition of good ol’ porridge! Richa, dark, creamy and smooth. Available at Good George Bars.

CIDERS

BLACKBERRY

4.5%
FLORENTINE RED
BLACKBERRIES, SWEET
TART, RICH BERRY FINISH
If you like blackberries but don’t like prickles, this cider is for you. We sent our brewers deep into the brambles searching for the darkest, plumpest berries and several hours later they emerged, covered in deep scratches and berry juice and ready to turn their heaving basket of fruit into something wonderful. Hey, there’s no need for you to feel bad, sometimes love hurts. Now drink up, or all that pain will be for nothing.

DORIS

4.5%
A SEDUCTIVE MAGENTA
PLUM, APPLE, GRAPE
SWEET, REFRESHING, TART
All the GOODness of our popular cider married up with locally sourced Doris Plums. Hints of plum & fruit, with sweet and sour taste, makes this one dangerously refreshing.

SCARLETT

5%
PALE, GOLD, LIGHT
DELICATE SCARLETT PEACH AND APPLE
SWEET, SLIGHTLY TART, RIP, JUICY
‘Moo-vin’ to the country, gonna drink a lot of peaches – the presidents of the USA nailed it with this catchy brainworm of a lyric, which we’ve only slightly mangled to make it sound like they were singing about this cider. It’s made with juicy Scarlett O’Hara peaches, and brings you all the summer fun of eating a peach, minus the tooth-chipping stone and all that creepy fur.

DROP HOP

4.5%
PALE, CLEAR, SECRETLY FRUITY
MANGO, PASSIONFRUIT, GRAPEFRUIT
SWEET, SOUR, TROPICAL
Gold – New World Beer & Cider Awards 2017
What happens when brewers make cider? They throw oodles of hops into it of course! Take a few of the most intensely aromatic hop flowers from across the globe & make those apples sing notes of passionfruit, mango, papaya and grapefruit. Good? Yep!

LIMITED EDITIONS

ZEALONG HIGH TEA AMBER ALE

4.2%
DARK AMBER BROWN
FRAGRANT, MALTY, SPICE, FRAGRANT TEA
RICH, FLAVOURFUL, SMOOTH TEA FINISH
We used to say we were Hamilton’s most hardcore brewers. Then one day we got a knock on the door from Zealong, a local tea plantation where they do some pretty mean brewing themselves. Rather than settle things with a to-the-death brew off, we instead took the Sesame Street approach and co-operated. The result is a fragrant, oolong-infused ale. Afternoon tea never tasted so good.
5%
LIGHT BROWN
CARAMEL, TANGELO, HERBAL, CHOCOLATE
LIGHT, MALTY, SWEETLIGHT BROWN
TAP ONLY
Together with flavour obsessed ice creamers Duck Island we’ve created this taste bomb of a beer, which will make your mouth feel the sorts of sensory pleasures that are illegal in some states of america.

BLACK LAGER

5%
BLACK WITH A HINT OF RUBY
SPICY, HERBAL, ZESTY, CHOCOLATE AND COFFEE
FLAVOURS OF SPICE, HERBS, AND CITRUS, HINTS OF CHOCOLATE AND TOASTED CARAMEL
Ah German. Such a beautiful language. Our seasonal black lager is a schwarzbier, pronounced shfarts-beer, with that final 'r' hoiked out of your throat like you swallowed a fly while riding a bicycle. Fortunately it's easier to drink than it is to say. The perfect liquid comfort food for a cosy night on the couch with you lebensgefahrtin. That means girlfriend. Like we said, it's a beautiful language.
